Our Story
AltaFina was born from a shared vision: to provide a truly independent alternative in wealth management, one where investors’ interests always come first. That vision began with Hélène Gagné, Linda Johnston, and André Morin, who launched their careers in financial services in 1985, 1989, and 1995 respectively, and have since retired.
From the beginning, they believed that maintaining true independence was essential to providing objective financial advice. They also became pioneers within Québec’s wealth management industry by remaining independent, adopting a fee-based compensation model, and embracing exchange-traded funds (ETFs) long before they became mainstream.

Today
Today, portfolio managers Gino Gauthier, Gaétan Lebrun, and Patrick Racicot proudly carry that vision forward. Together, they continue to offer a truly independent alternative while remaining committed to the same investment philosophy and core values that have guided the firm for more than four decades.
