Reliable transaction oversight through institutional trading platforms
All client transactions submitted by advisors are processed by PEAK’s Operations Department through institutional trading platforms, ensuring complete transaction records and full traceability.
Easy access to your accounts and investment performance
PEAK provides clients with regular account statements, available both electronically and in print where applicable.
Clients also have secure online access to their account holdings, transactions, and investment activity at any time.
Independent, qualified custodians
Assets held in your PEAK investment accounts are safeguarded by qualified custodians that are independent of PEAK. These custodians are Canadian financial institutions, primarily located in Toronto, Ontario. Current custodians include:
- Cash — Toronto-Dominion Bank for non-registered accounts and Canada Trust Company for registered accounts. Cash balances are eligible for protection by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), subject to applicable limits.
- Securities — Fidelity Clearing Canada ULC.
- Investment funds (mutual funds) — Please refer to the applicable fund prospectus under the Organization of the Fund section.
Independent annual audit
PEAK’s books and records are audited annually by the independent accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Thorough advisor due diligence
Before an advisor joins PEAK, the firm’s Compliance Department conducts a comprehensive review of the candidate’s background. This review includes extensive screening procedures, including verification of professional history and credit background. For more information about the registration status of advisors regulated by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), please consult CIRO’s AdvisorReport.
Ongoing regulatory oversight
PEAK’s Compliance Department continuously monitors compliance with all applicable securities regulations, industry rules, and the firm’s internal policies and procedures. The department also develops compliance tools, including the client profile process, to help advisors gain a thorough understanding of each client’s investment objectives, financial circumstances, and risk tolerance.
